Young Alumni Service Award Recipient 2009
Jeremy A. Ball '04
As a Defiance College student, Jeremy Ball developed a passion for service. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications in 2004, he incorporated that passion into his profession as capital campaign director and development manager for MAP Furniture Bank, providing free furniture to Columbus residents in need. In 2007, Jeremy was named administrative services manager for Big Lots Stores, Inc., in Columbus where he directs and manages five departments, directs charitable giving, and assists with corporate communications. Jeremy serves on the MAP Furniture Bank board of directors, the DC Alumni and Friends Network central Ohio leadership team, and the Columbus Young Professionals Presidents Council.
Nominations
Purpose
To recognize achievements of young alumni whose life exemplify high principles and who are outstanding leaders in profession and community, bringing honor to Defiance College, and demonstrating promise of further distinction.
Criteria
Nominees must have graduated from Defiance College within the last ten years. They must also practice the highest standards of professional and personal ethics in dedicated service to his or her profession. Nominees must illustrate volunteer service to the community and society, as well as have a high personal integrity and character.
Eligibility
Alumni of Defiance College must living at the time of selection are eligible to receive the Young Alumni Award. The recipient must be present on campus to receive the award, barring any extenuating circumstances. Current members of the Defiance College Alumni Executive Board are not eligible for alumni awards. Alumni who are current employees of Defiance College are also not eligible for nomination.
Nominations
Nomination forms for any Defiance College Alumni Award candidate are available from the Alumni Office or on-line (http://alumni.defiance.edu- click on awards). Nominations will be accepted by family, friends, alumni, or any member of the college faculty or administrative staff.
